Ok, so it doesn’t have quite the same ring as Brangelina but you get the point. My good friends Nicolette and Zack are getting married in May and asked me to do their engagement session. Of course I agreed to it, but as the weeks passed by I grew more and more nervous about it. You would think that the idea of photographing two people you’ve worked with (and played with) for almost a decade would be anything but stressful. But I knew that doing this shoot would give me a much more intimate look at the two of them as a unit and I felt a little shy about it. I think it’s safe to say we all did. Luckily, we have another amazing friend who happened to have been skipped when God was passing out those shy bones. This particular evening, we referred to her as “Prop Lady”, but her official job was Ice Breaker. And in true Kimberly Robinson fashion, she worked her magic and it was all giggles in no time.
Nico and Zack, I can’t tell you how happy I am for you guys. Who would have known all those crazy nights at Genji and M Bar would lead to this point? I’m so honored to have had the opportunity to capture this special time for you and I wish you all the best.
I have to preface these images with a little disclaimer. Zack owns a landscaping company. When Nico texted me with her and Zack’s idea to bring gardening tools and to wear the whole Zack’s Landscaping get-up, I was less than thrilled. But it’s what they wanted so I was more than happy to deliver. And as it turns out, I think they’re pretty cute. Will you find them in my portfolio? Probably not. But they still make me smile :).
