So technically, it’s Richmond but you get it. This was a total last minute I-Have -To-Get-These-Kids-Out-Of-The-House trip but we LOVED it. The grounds are beautiful, the details were a joy to see and touch and photograph and the living history actors weren’t at all creepy like I expected them to be. We even stuck around at one house so long that we made them break out of character ;). I remember coming here once in elementary school and feeling meh about it. I’m sure it’s a completely different experience when you’re surrounded by hundreds of 9-year-olds. But today we had the place pretty much to ourselves. That’s the way to do it. It’s affordable ($20 for myself and the boys) and only about 35 minutes from the Meyerland area. Win.
